David Charles Pollard, 77, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in Jackson.

David was born October 8, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and grew up in the nearby town of St. Rose. He graduated in 1966 from Destrehan High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University. He married Denise Todd in Metairie, Louisiana, in 1973, and together they raised three children.

David began working at Winn-Dixie at the age of 15, beginning his long career in the grocery industry. He spent many years with Winn-Dixie and SuperValu. His work led his family to live in many areas, before settling in Brandon in 1991, where he owned a SuperValu Store near the Reservoir and a convenience store, Todd’s Country Junction, on Highway 18.

David was a huge LSU fan, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming in his spare time. He enjoyed driving and was always on the go. David and Denise are faithful members of St. Paul Catholic Church in Flowood.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Nora Abate Lemoine. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Denise Pollard; children, Alyce Lachney (Randy), Todd Pollard (Christy), and Noel Hanley; and his beloved grandchildren, Austin Lachney, Emory, Piper, and Zeke Pollard, and Isla Hanley.

Visitation will take place at St. Paul Catholic Church in Flowood on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:00 pm. Interment in Lakeland Place Memorial Park will immediately follow the mass.
