David Luke Lane, a beloved family man and patriot, was born on November 30, 1942. He passed away on February 19, 2026, at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.

David proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, demonstrating his commitment to his country. He was known for his deep love for his family, life, and the University of Mississippi, commonly referred to as Ole Miss.

He is survived by his daughter, Christy Berry (Scott); son, David W. Lane (Bethany); stepsons, Alex Tinkle (Chasity) and Stephen Tinkle (Kelly); sister, Judy Lane Martin (Charlie); and ten grandchildren, who will cherish his memory.

David was preceded in death by his father, Joe Rankin Lane; mother, Mattie Merle Lane; wife, Peggy Marie Lane; brother, Billy Lane; and grandchild, David W. Lane, Jr.

Visitation and Funeral services will be held on February 23, 2026, at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes in Brandon, Mississippi. The visitation will start at 10:00 AM and continue until the service at 11:00 AM, concluding after noon. David will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
