Annie Marcelle Nelson, 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at her home in Crystal Springs, Mississippi.

Visitation will be at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church, 3121 Didlake Rd., Crystal Springs, MS 39059, on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, and again on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday. Mrs. Nelson will be laid to rest following the service in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Annie was born on October 20, 1935, to Lawrence W. Horn and Grace Fore Horn. She graduated from Central High School. She completed courses at Central High School and clinicals at Baptist Hospital to become a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1961. She went on to retire from Brandon Nursing Home. She also worked as a greeter in the lawn and garden section of Walmart.

On May 21, 1956, Annie married Howard Nelson, and together they shared 70 years of love and memories. Howard and Annie had four children, Wes, Ronnie, Bob, and Lynn. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling across the United States together, especially out west, collecting thimbles and spoons to commemorate their trips.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Grace Horn, and her siblings, Allen Horn, Ida Chain, and twin brothers, Leslie and Wesley Horn.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Howard Nelson; children, Wes Nelson (Sally), Ronnie Nelson (Kay), Bob Nelson, and Lynn Nelson; sister, Carolyn Perry (Dale); grandchildren, Paige, Nikki, Jesse (Lisa), Derek (Kristin), Clayton, Rachel (Jason), Chirs, Josh (Kacy), Amanda (Kevin) and Katrina; sixteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
