Obituary

Alan Howard Harrigill, 84, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026, at home in Brandon, MS, surrounded by his wife and his earthly angel and caregiver, Shannon Jenkins. He was born on November 1, 1941, in Brookhaven to Donald and Gertrude Harrigill, the second born of their five children. He graduated from Brookhaven High School and obtained a bachelor’s degree from Millsaps College and a juris doctorate degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He enjoyed a long and varied professional career, working as an FBI agent, an attorney, a salesperson and in sales management. He was a devout Christian, a Freemason and was involved in several local civic groups. Alan enjoyed spending time with his family and taking annual trips with his wife, Ann, to the Smoky Mountains, as well as hunting, fishing and driving his motorcycle and antique car.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Bernard and Gertrude Ray Harrigill; daughters, Rebekah Harrigill Barrett and Angela “Nikki” Busby; brother, Donald Ray Harrigill; and sister, Muriel Annette Harrigill Dale.

Alan is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Ann Baker-Harrigill; grandsons, Cody Barrett Jr. and Taylor Robertson; brother, Bernard Harrigill of Brandon; and sister, Julia Harrigill Goodyear of Savannah, TN.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 10:45 am with the service following at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at The Chapel at Pinelake Baptist Church Reservoir Campus, 6071 Hwy 25, Brandon, MS. Interment will be at 4:00 pm at The Stampley-Woodyear-Fulton Cemetery in Roxie, MS.

In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, donations can be made to The Benevolence Fund of Pinelake Baptist Church of Brandon.
