Larry Sistrunk was born on August 1, 1951 and went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2019. He was the son of Willie Gene “Pete” Sistrunk of Sebastopol and Bobbie Nell Gainey Sistrunk of Morton both of whom preceded him in death. He married Carol Cooper of Morton on June 12, 1970. They celebrated 49 wonderful years together last month. He was a self-employed contractor/carpenter whose work was nothing less than as perfect as he could possibly make it for the benefit of his customers. Very often those customers and business associates became hard and fast friends with Larry for the remainder of his life. Larry loved to fish and hunt with anyone who could be persuaded to go with him, enjoying being out in the beauty of God’s creation, whether the hunt was successful or not. Family was important to Larry and he was loving and supportive of all his family including extended family members. He is survived by his wife Carol, his precious daughters Wendy Stuart and Amanda Patrick, their husbands whom he considered sons, Doug Stuart and Nathan Patrick, his favorite granddaughter Lexey Stuart, and his beloved grandsons Jett Stuart, Peyton Patrick and Cason Patrick. He is survived by his sisters Deborah Robinson (Howell), and Pam Babb (Danny) of Carthage, and brother Dennis Ray Sistrunk (Alice) of Puckett. He was preceded in death by a brother Curtis Dewayne Sistrunk. He is also survived by sister-in-law Jamie Ayles (Rodney), uncle and aunt Maxwell & Nancy Gainey, uncle Randall Gainey, aunt and uncle Geneva Sistrunk Bailey (Jimmy) of Ringgold, Dean Devers of Sebastopol, Betty Sistrunk Box of Birmingham, several special nephews, nieces, and great-nieces and many special cousins.
