Ian Alan Cochran
Ian Alan Cochran, 18, joined his Heavenly Father, on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at his home. Visitation is 4-7 PM Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM Sunday at Brandon Baptist Church with visitation starting at 12:30 PM at the church. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.
Ian Alan Cochran was a gifted teenager who lived for soccer, heavy metal, books, and life in general. Ian was a 2018 graduate of Brandon High School, where he graduated with an A average. Ian was the president of the Chess Club and was also a member of the Tech Team. He began playing soccer at the age of four and brought joy into the lives of all around him. His spirits remained high all the way until the end, as evidenced by his consistent joke-telling while he underwent medical procedures. Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Steel Panther, and KISS was his soundtrack. Gliomatosis Cerebri, a rare form of brain cancer, took Ian away entirely too soon. Ian donated his brain to science, and his legacy will live on. His family wishes that instead of flowers, contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Survivors include his parents, Joel and Kim Cochran; sisters, Hope Harbour of Brandon and Kayla Jones of Florence; grandparents, John and Judy Cochran and Lisa and Woody Woodham all of Brandon; he is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, family and many friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in his honor at: https://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/Heroes/Heroes?px=5265086&pg=personal&fr_id=105980
