Mr. Dwight Irby, age 88 a resident of Morton passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at his residence.  Visitation will be held 5pm-8pm Friday, September 6, 2019 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Visitation will also be held 9am-9:45am Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Branch Baptist Church.  Services will be held 10am Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Branch Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.  Bro. Geary Walton and Bro. Michael Giles will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Irby was born in Scott County on September 28, 1930.  He was known in the area for his farming and enjoyed working with his cattle.  Mr. Irby loved his wife of 54 years, Opal, his children and grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janie Opal Merchant Irby; parents, Sam Irby and Mittie Lee Walker Irby; 1st wife,Marie Fedrick Irby ; siblings, Talmadge, Bernice, Grace, Norma, Sam O., Lois, Katherine and Ruth.

He is survived by his children, Garner Irby of Morton, David Irby (Melanie) of Morton, Terri Bairfield of Morton and Paul Irby (Lynn) of Morton; 8 grandchildren, Erin McCurdy, Joshua Irby, Sam Irby, Cara Irby Justin Bairfield (Wendy), Victoria Bairfield, Jamie Rawson (Cory) and Zach Irby; 7 great grandchildren, Tanna McCurdy, Hunter, Katie, Walker and Kylie Bairfield; Cole & Irby Rawson and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Josh Irby, Sam Irby, Cory Rawson, Zach Irby, Michael Latham and Justin Bairfield.  Honorary pallbearers will be Colin Jack Gordon, Mike Measels and Irby Rawson.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Branch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
