Mr. Charles B. Winstead, age 75, a resident of Puckett Community passed away on Wednesday, March 06, 2019 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.  Visitation will be held 11am-1:45pm Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Union Baptist  Church.  Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday at the church with burial in the church cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Winstead was born in Simpson County on April 9, 1943.  Charles loved being outside and working in his garden.  He loved the Lord and was a member of Union Baptist Church.  He has served as Deacon since 1990.  His great granddaughter, L J, was the apple of his eye and he loved his family very much.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cassel Beacher Winstead and Edith Inell Fortenberry Winstead; and daughter, Rebecca Jean Winstead Daniel.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Elaine Neely Winstead of Puckett; children, Betsy Jane Winstead of Puckett and Charles Brock Winstead (Tom) of Jackson; 2 grandchildren, Gina Winstead-Vick (Kris) and Tony Daniel; great granddaughter, L J Vick; 7 siblings, Edith Stacy of Morton, Peggie Coleman of Puckett, Tommie Joe Winstead (Rose) of LA, Janie Mitchell (Kenny) of TN, Walter Winstead (Patty) of Puckett, Marvin Winstead of Puckett and Margaret Peace (Bill) of GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Union Baptist Church.
