William Monte Bishoff
William Monte Bishoff, 88, passed away on October 27, 2017, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.  Visitation will be at 2:00 pm and the service at 3:00 pm.
Billy was born in Kansas City, Missouri.  His father, George Bishoff, was a hotel manager in Louisville, Kentucky at the historic Sellbach Hotel. Billy had a younger brother, Bob whom he loved dearly. Their mother, Rachel, died from typhoid fever and left Billy and Bob at an early age. Their loving maternal grandparents helped raise them in a rural setting where they enjoyed many adventures together.  As a young boy he sold newspapers and enjoyed meeting people.  He had a strong bond with his family in Missouri and would make it to the Bishoff Family Reunion each year, which he rarely missed.  Billy attended his last reunion in July 2017. He was a plumber by trade and owned the Rankin County Plumbing Contractors which he enjoyed for 30 years.
Billy will fondly be remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, uncle, and brother.  He was an Air Force Veteran and an active member of College Drive Seventh Day Adventist Church. Billy was known as a master storyteller and would relay stories about his childhood, youth and when he served overseas.   He was an avid motorcycle rider and world traveler.  He and his wife, Elsie, traveled throughout Thailand and the Philippines for years staying three to four months at a time. He also traveled in Europe, Bali and Hong Kong.  It was not uncommon to see Billy riding down the country roads on one of his many motorcycles to visit with neighbors and friends in the community.  Later he traded the motorcycles in for his Kawasaki mule which he enjoyed for many years.
Billy is preceded in death by his father, George Bishoff, mother, Rachel Mumford Bishoff, his brother Bob Bishoff and wife Elsie Nelson Bishoff.
Billy is survived by his four sons: Monte(Janet), Steve Bishoff, Ben Bishoff, and Tyler(Rene’). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Blaire Bishoff Henderson (Max), Evan Bishoff, and Bailey Bishoff.  Nieces Robin Rojas of Indiana; Kelly Bishoff Walker of Florence; Rhonda McConnell of Indiana; and nephew, Michael Bishoff of Louisiana and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
The family would like to thank the caregivers: Ronda Jordan and Aretha Larry for the undivided attention and excellent care they provided for Billy during the last few months.
