Perry Lorenzo Hiles, III known as “Lorry” by his family and “Pearl” by his co- workers was born in Independence, MO on July 12, 1951 to his parents: Perry Hiles, Jr., and Myra Ann Searfoss Hiles.

Mr. Hiles was a retired self- employed business owner, in the expertise of lawn care. Lorry enjoyed the simple things of life: his lawn service business, fresh cut flowers, love of family, church family, and friends, and giving to others.  He will be remembered as a man who was selfless, in particular, toward the elderly of the community. The town of Raleigh, where he resided the last twenty two years will remember him as the town “Santa Claus,” which brought him great joy to see the excitement on the children’s faces. It was stated by one of his family members, “he was a people person, and never met a stranger.” Collection of antique cars and their restoration process was a hobby that brought him great satisfaction. He was a Christian by faith and a member of Christian Life Fellowship.

He passed away under the care of the staff at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the age of 66.

He is preceded in death by his father and one sister: Ellen.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years: Mrs. Janice Hiles of Raleigh; four children: Charity Heishman of Ketesville, MO; Amy (Ed) Bush of Anaheim, CA; Devin (Bo) Jordan, and Benjamin (Paula) Hiles, both of Raleigh; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother: Myra Hiles of Odessa, MO; one brother: Ralph “Bill” Hiles, and his wife Cindy, of Bates City, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
