Norman Creighton Gannon, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Merit Health Central in Jackson, MS. Visitation will begin at 9:30am Monday, October 23, 2017, at Oakdale Baptist Church in Brandon with a service following at 11am at the church. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Mr. Gannon was born in New Orleans, LA on January 20, 1940, to Norman Creighton Gannon, Sr. and Maurine Gloria Scott Gannon Maddox. He was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church and was a home builder retiring after 35 years, then became fleet manager at Watson Quality Ford. He enjoyed playing golf and loved to fish.
Survivors include his children, Debra G. Milstead and husband Bill, Norma Blakeney, Creighton Gannon, Britt Gannon and Brad Grice; brother, Robert Riendeau; sister, Florence Ellers; grandchildren, Brianne Lovin, Kaiti Staten, Nicki Royer, Charles Blakeney, Daniel Gannon and Josh Wade; he is also survived by 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Creighton Gannon, Sr. and mother, Maurine Gannon Maddox and his wife, Kay Lynn Humphrey Gannon.
Pallbearers will be Charles Blakeney, Justin Staten, Jeremy Royer, Josh Wade, Joey Bullock and Chris Lovin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Gannon’s honor to the American Diabetes Association or CARA (Community Animal Rescue and Adoptions, Jackson, MS)
