Betres Inez McComb, 97, was with family when she went home to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Merit Health Rankin.  Visitation is 2-4pm Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, with a funeral service following at 4pm in the chapel.  Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.  Rev. Sam Taylor officiated.

Betres was born in Remlap, AL, on April 8, 1920, to the late John Monroe Smallwood and Mary Francis Cooper Smallwood.  She was a charter member of Robinhood Baptist Church and she loved gardening, sewing, painting and cooking for friends and family.  Her greatest enjoyment was taking care of her family.

Survivors include her children, Kenny Self of Pinson, AL, Larry Lollar (Wanda) of Pinson, AL, Judy Wilder Smith of Brandon, MS and Wayne Lollar (Rosemary) of Pinson, AL; sister, Claudia Belle Jones; 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. McComb was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janice Dawkins; son, Lynn Lollar; siblings, Flossie McKay, Deamer Poe, Gladys Lollar, Grace Bennett, Eaul Smallwood and Jewell Smallwood; and her husband, George Al McComb.
